Privacy Policy

The Creators Union (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you join the union, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for the information you provide.

What we collect

When you sign up, we collect the information you choose to give us:

• Your email address (required).
• Optionally, your name and country.
• The platforms you create on and the approximate size of your audience.
• The reasons you’re joining (e.g. account suspensions, copyright strikes, demonetisation) and any details you share about your situation.
• Your preferences: whether you want representation, are open to sharing your story, or would consider collective legal action.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

We process this data on the basis of your consent, in order to:

• Send you the email updates and industry briefings you opted into.
• Give you access to the private members’ community.
• Understand our membership and build an anonymised evidence base for advocacy with platforms, press, and regulators.

We will only ever share an individual’s identifiable story publicly with that member’s explicit, separate permission.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run this union: our email provider (Resend) to deliver emails, our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon) to operate the site, and our community platform (Telegram) which you join voluntarily. These providers process data on our instructions.

Where your data is stored

Member records are stored in a database hosted in the European Union. Some providers may process data outside your country; where they do, they are bound by appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you are a member. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record, we will remove it promptly, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict processing. Cookies & analytics

This site uses only the cookies strictly necessary to function, and we do not run advertising trackers. We measure traffic with our own privacy-friendly analytics: we count pageviews and estimate unique visitors using a daily, one-way hash, without storing your IP address or setting any tracking cookie.
